The Association

About the Association

The Goa Olympic Association is the recognised state Olympic body for Goa, India, and a member unit of the Indian Olympic Association.

We strengthen the Olympic movement in Goa and build the conditions in which athletes participate, compete, develop and excel — at state, national and international level. We work with athletes, coaches, associations, clubs, academies, officials, institutions, government agencies and sponsors to do it.

Mandate

We govern and coordinate the Olympic movement across the state, in line with the Olympic Charter and the constitution of the Indian Olympic Association.

Members

Our members are state-level associations for individual sports, affiliated after we review their constitution, elections and activity record. There are 61 on the register.

Governance

We are led by an elected executive committee — President, Secretary General, Treasurer and members — serving a four-year term. The 2026–30 council is listed below.

Contingents

We select, enter and manage Goa’s teams for the National Games and national multi-sport championships.

  • Develop pathways that carry athletes from grassroots participation to elite competition.
  • Connect athletes, associations, coaches, clubs, institutions, government and sponsors.
  • Support athletes representing Goa at national and international competitions.
  • Preserve Goa’s sporting history and make it accessible to future generations.

How we work

Three commitments, and what each one means in practice.

Transparency
Every affiliated association is published here with its recognition status — permanent, provisional or not in compliance — and the office-bearers on record for it. Including the ones not in compliance.
Athlete first
The athlete register is public, so a Goan athlete’s participation is a matter of record rather than something held in a file. Athlete welfare comes ahead of results.
Inclusion
We carry 64 sports, not only the 29 on the Olympic programme, and we work to put sport within reach regardless of background, gender, ability or geography.
